Tourist Attractions: Wright and Like 2007 Tours in Lake Geneva WI

The Lake Geneva library in Wisconsin is just one of Lake Geneva’s historical
architectural wonders. James Dresser, a
student of the famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, created the design for this
quaint building, winning out over the blueprints of a Carnegie-style building
that was approved during its construction in the mid-1950s. Instead of a tall stone building with little
personality, Dresser offered a prairie style library, with brilliant red oak
and vast glass panels to let the light pour in. 

This beautiful library is just one of the stops for the Wright and Like
2007: Prairie on the Lakes tour; the tour is sponsored by the Frank Lloyd Wright
Wisconsin organization and features seven Wright designs and three ‘likes.’ Included in the tours that run from June
8-10, are other historically important homes such as the Fred B. Jones Estate
on Delavan Lake, The Charles Ross Cottage, and the Allyn Mansion.
