Several Walworth County WI Developers’ requests turned down by Village Board

Walworth Prairie Subdivision request an extra hour of construction and rezoning issues brought up

At the last Village Board meeting in Walworth WI, several
developers went away disappointed. The developers
of the Walworth Prairie Subdivision requested that their construction time per
day be extended by an hour so that they could finish sooner; they indicated
that this additional evening hour would not disturb Subdivision neighbors, as
there would not be any more noise than a combine or plow and minimal lights. Nevertheless, their request was denied
unanimously by the board.

Also presented during this meeting was a rezone hearing for
the 261 N. Main st. property. Currently zoned
at R-1, the requested rezoning would be R-3, which includes a change in density
requirements so they could build three units where there was currently only
one. Concerns such as insufficient
parking and the possible acquisition of some of the land into the county’s
possession were discussed. Ultimately the
board wanted the developers to revise their plan and directed them back to the
county Plan commission.

Despite setbacks, Walworth Prairie Subdivision developers
are hopeful and making progress. The rezoning
issue for the 261 N. Main st. property will likely be revised and presented
again in the near future.
