Lake Geneva City Parking Policy Changes

The New year brought abrupt changes to the previous parking policies in Lake Geneva, causing mixed reactions

City parking in Lake Geneva has undergone some changes that
many residents have found difficult to swallow. Hitherto, the city offered free parking for two hours for anyone during
the holidays and until the end of April of each year, and it was not heavily
enforced if you happen to go over that time. This year however, things have changed. Since January 15th the new parking policy has been in effect
which does not allow violations of parking meters.

Although the city received a good deal of complaints the
first few weeks, the objections are tapering off as the enforcement of the
parking meters has continued. Most of
these complaints seemed to be from those that did not follow the news of this
change—mainly visitors or those that work and do business from just outside the
city. Despite efforts to make everyone
happy in this matter, downtown businesses are worried that this has and will
affect revenue negatively.
