Geneva WI Looks toward Joining the Smart Growth plan for Walworth County
because of rapid population growth in the last few years, Geneva believes that participating in the Smart Growth Effort will be the solution
Although Geneva Town Board members were not participants in
the Walworth County’s Smart Growth planning effort a few years ago, they are
more than happy to come aboard now. Last
month, town board members agreed that they would ask whether they could join
the county’s Smart Growth Technical multijurisdictional land use plan. Although joining will cost $21,000 over a
three-year period the advantages to joining the Smart Growth plans will
outweigh the costs; Geneva will be able to slow down growth in the town and
update their current land use plan. As
Geneva is one of the fastest growing towns, this will be advantageous for them
to keep things under control.
Geneva’s participation will make the count 13 for towns
involved in the Smart Growth planning effort.
