Linn Township May have New Post Office Facility

Linn Township in Wisconsin may be seeing a new post office facility in the future. Currently operating out of a trailer, town board members decided it time to look into constructing a new building; a special meeting was held and town board supervisor and committee chairman Greg Holden presented drawings for a possible building design within the Town Hall lot. The building was proposed in this plan to be 100-by-80 feet, and officials will now need to take the proposal to Highway Superintendent Jim Wolfgram to obtain estimates in cost and devise alternative plans to build on select sites.

Officials are concerned about keeping the post office running in the town as maintaining one is crucial for Linn Township to pursue incorporation as a village. In addition, a possible bill that would allow towns to achieve a similar status to a village without worrying about losing land to nearby cities or villages is also in the works.
