Lake Geneva Real Estate
The last few weeks have proven to be rather interesting for the Lake Geneva real estate market, when it comes to lakefront homes. A home came on the market at 938 Marianne Terrace during the last week of September on a Thursday for $1,200,000. I had occasion to show the property the next day and there were already 2 offers in on the property. The following day on Saturday there were seven additional showings of the home and by the following Tuesday it had an accepted offer. Granted you don’t get much of a home these days on Lake Geneva for $1,200,000 but it certainly created a lot of attention for the lakefront market. The property has just over 60′ of frontage and the home was rather modest, I have not heard if the new prospective Buyer intends to substantially remodel or take the home down and start over again. Once it closes the sale price will become public knowledge and it will be interesting to see how close to the asking price it sold for, or if it went for over the asking price.
This is just further evidence that goes to prove that in spite of all the doom and gloom that the media likes to try to scare the public with regarding the overall real estate market, not all markets are the same and when it comes to lake front on Lake Geneva, there will always be a strong demand for property that the market deems to be a good value. The time is definitely right for Buyers who are willing to step forward and take action now to take advantage of some of the outstanding values currently available on the lake. I’m confident many Buyers will look back in a few months and conclude that they should have taken action in the Fall of 2009.
