The possible purchase of Hillmoor Golf Course by the City of Lake Geneva WI is not considered a city sponsored issue and will not be investigated by a city committee

During a recent meeting over the possible purchase of
Hillmoor Golf Course in the Lake Geneva WI area, the option to create a city
council committee was voted down. The Golf
Course is currently owned by the Wight Group, who are planning on the addition
of 278 housing units, a hotel, and expanding and renovating the Golf
Course. Though the Wight Group have
stated that the property is not for sale, some believe that because the city
already owns nearly 30 acres of the course that they should purchase the rest
and prevent further development on the redesigned course; either way they
believe it concerns the city and they should be in the decision making process.

Nevertheless, most city council members are against forming
a city committee and making this fully a city concern or promoting it as a city
sponsored decision. A committee may
still be formed of concerned citizens to look at different possibilities, but
the issue remains a debate for city council members.
