Lake Geneva WI’s Lakefront will see an Increase in select Leases and Better watch of the Piers

Lake Geneva City Council Cracks down on Lease violations as well as increasing the price of buoy and slip leases and Lagoon Rates

The Lake Geneva City Council has decided to increase
buoy and slip leases $100 as well as increase lagoon lease rates. These increases are part of a way to fund the
new harbormaster position that the council is considering for 2008. However, Lake Geneva goers may see other lakefront
fees go up in price as well.

Not having enough workers to staff
lakefront activities, the city will also be cracking down on lessees. The council agreed to enforce penalties for lessees
who have altered their pier slip without the city’s permission. There have been problems with this matter in
the past, in which individuals have altered their piers in different ways to
accommodate a boat or shore station. Penalties include an immediate withdrawal of the lessees’ lease, and
that the pier is restored to its original condition out of pocket. Other, more severe, penalties may include
charges of criminal damage to the city’s property.

If you are planning on enjoying
lakefront activities in Lake Geneva WI, be sure you know the rules, laws, and
regulations and be properly licensed.
