Plans for a Lake Geneva WI Spa, Winery, and Residential Subdivision Meets with some opposition
Lake Geneva WI's South Side will have a new spa, winery, and residential subdivision, but not all community members agree with the project
The proposed Mirbeau-Hummel plan for Lake Geneva’s South
side is sparking criticism. This plan
involves the addition of a spa, a winery, and a residential subdivision. However, during a recent open house at Lake
Geneva City Hall, community members voiced negative feelings for the
development project.
Comments during the open house included the desire to see
information on how this will affect the natural environment (i.e. the lake and
wetlands) and keeping farmlands as they are. Other issues include how the residential subdivision will impact the
local schools and that some community members would like to see more parks.
Nevertheless, despite concerns, the Mirbeau-Hummel plan is
very likely to be followed through. With
current information the project should not add more than about 40 more students
to the schools, and the conservancy will be involved to see that the Lake and
natural environment are protected.
