Fontana’s Proposed Ordinance May Impact Lakefront Homeowners
the proposed ordinance will prevent lakefront homeowners from buying lands across the street and put a limit on the size of a caretaker home
Coming before the Plan Commission April 28 is a public
hearing concerning a set of changes that would prevent homeowners from building
caretaker units that are equal in size to their primary residence. In this proposed ordinance, caretakers’ homes
could only be 50 percent of the square footage size of the primary resident or
1,500 square feet, whichever turns out to be smaller. The ordinance would also prevent homeowners
from buying property across the street from their lakefront home with the purpose
of increasing the density of their property.
